The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The elements of today's American culture that remind me of the country's colonial past are the ongoing demand for civil rights for African American people and other minorities groups, terrible racial issues that still deeply divide the United States, the demand of the common-US citizen for better public services such as the health services, and the economic struggle of the medium and lower classes to make a decent living under difficult economic times.

Colonial America was a difficult moment in the history of the United States because people had many struggles when living under the rule of the English monarchy. Political and economic problems such as the heavy taxation imposed by the English government such as the Stamp Act, the Tea Act, or the Navigation Acts. The fact that colonists did not have a voice or representation in the British Parliament. Aggressions such as the Boston Massacre.

So today, there are still many issues to be solved in the United States, which problems are similar in proportions to what colonists lived in the 1600s-1700s.

How does the constitution limit the power of the president as commander in chief
Black_prince [1.1K]

The US Constitution limits the power of the president as comander in chief by giving Congress the ability to declare war.

The President of the United States cannot declare war without Congressional approval. The President does have the ability to put troops in another country for 60 days. However, if he/she does not get approval for those troops to be there, they must be removed within 30 days. This ability to check the power of the president is part of the checks and balance system established in our constitution.

What is the best definition of bicameral? a legislature based on size of the state an act of working as a lawmaker for a group a
Alchen [17]

Answer:

a government made up of two parts

Explanation:

The bicameral legislature is system in which the government is divided into two chambers, houses, or simply put in two parts. None of the two parts of the government is not allowed to work independently, so anything that goes through one of the parts, has to go in the other part for voting as well. This system has been established in order to not allow a single political party or group to have total control in the politics, thus balancing the opinions and policies, and protecting the interests of the citizens.
