5) Given :

Side length of triangle (b) = 5.6 in

Hypotenuse of triangle (c) = 10.6 in

To find:

Length of side 'a'

Steps:

Using Pythagoras theorem

A² + B² = C²

We can find the missing length,

A² + (5.6)² = (10.6)²

A² + 31.36 = 112.36

A² + 31.36 - 31.36 = 112.36 - 31.36       (subtracting 31.36 from both sides)

A² = 81

\sqrt{A^{2} } =\sqrt{81}

A = 9 in

The length of side 'a' is 9 in

now using the same method for the rest of the questions, you will find

6) \sqrt{15^{2} - 9^{2}  }= \sqrt{225 - 81} = \sqrt{144} = 12 mm

7)\sqrt{26^{2}-10 ^{2} }=\sqrt{676 - 100}  =\sqrt{576} = 24 cm

8)

\sqrt{(12\frac{1}{3}) ^{2} -4^{2} }=\sqrt{(\frac{37}{3})^{2} -4^{2}  }= \sqrt{\frac{1369}{9}-16 }  =\sqrt{\frac{1369}{9} - \frac{144}{9} } = \sqrt{\frac{1369 - 144}{9} }= \sqrt{\frac{1225}{9} }= 35/3 yd

Step-by-step explanation:

use the pythagoras theory.

a2 + b2 = c2

the firth one use this formula

a2 = c2 - b2

a2 = 10.6² - 5.6²

a2 = 112.36 - 31.36

a2 = 81

a = 9

The same method use to the eighth one

Rewrite one tenth times x cubed times y plus two tenths times x times y squared using a common factor.
zalisa [80]

The expression which can be rewritten using a common factor is; xy/10 (x² + 2y).

<h3>What is an expression?</h3>

Expression in maths is defined as the collection of numbers variables and functions by using signs like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

We have the following information given as;

One tenth times x cubed times y plus two tenths times x times y squared using a common factor.

We know that 'times' has to be replaced with multiplication.

Now, we will change this into mathematical expression as;

x³y/ 10 + 2xy²/ 10

Now, the common factor can be ;

xy/10

The Common factor refers to the number and the variables taken as a common factor should be able to completely divide the terms given any expression.

Now, taking it as a common factor, we have the following expression:

xy/10 (x² + 2y)

Hence, the required expression is; xy/10 (x² + 2y).

A. 30 -1 =7<br> B.<br> 32 = 8<br> 1) How can we get Equation B from Equation A?
mixer [17]

Answer:

you +1 on each side

Step-by-step explanation:

a is 30-1=7

b is 32=8

to get from "a" to "b" you simply add one on both sides

32 - 1 = 7

+ 1 +1

Renta is hiking along a trail that is 13.7 miles long so far she height along 1/10 of of the trail how far does went a hike
tigry1 [53]

Answer:

1.37 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

If she went along 1/10 of the trail, multiply that fraction times the length of the trail

1/10 * 13.7

13.7/10

Move the decimal 1 place to the left since we are dividing by 10

1.37 miles
