Eliminating weak/dead verbs means avoiding too much use of the copulative "to be". This can be done through focusing on the action in the sentence. Another good way is to make sure your sentence is in the active voice.
First sentence: (Not much could be done with that one as there is no action, unless you would like to change the meaning of the sentence.)
Second sentence: I angered my mom.
Third sentence: The dark frightened the little boy.
