The independent variable is the one on the X (horizontal) axis

i just remembered, in 6th or 7th grade, my science teacher gave us a way to remember which is which.

DRY - Dependent (Responding) is on the Y axis
MIX - Manipulated (Independent) is on the X axis

Hope this helps!

In ΔSTU, the measure of ∠U=90°, TU = 6.6 feet, and US = 2.3 feet. Find the measure of ∠S to the nearest tenth of a degree.
zimovet [89]

Answer:

  70.8°

Step-by-step explanation:

The sides and angles are related in a right triangle such that ...

  Tan = Opposite/Adjacent

  tan(S) = UT/US = 6.6/2.3

The inverse tangent function is used to find the angle from its value:

  ∠S = arctan(6.6/23)

  ∠S ≈ 70.8°

Is it possible that the orientation of a figure can change after a translation? Explain
coldgirl [10]
No, because a translation is just a slide. For the orientation to change, the shape would have to be rotated or flipped.

PLSSSS HELP WILL MARK BRAINLIEST :)))
GuDViN [60]

Answer: (2,-2) (-1,1) (-3,-1) (-2,-4)

Step-by-step explanation:

The x-axis is the horizontal line and the y-axis is the vertical line on a graph. The ordered pairs are always in (x,y).

To perform a geometry reflection, a line of reflection is needed; the resulting orientation of the two figures are opposite. Corresponding parts of the figures are the same distance from the line of reflection. Ordered pair rules reflect over the x-axis: (x, -y), y-axis: (-x, y), line y=x: (y, x).
