Answer:

The correct sequence of events that has taken place for the evolution of the atmosphere are as follows-

1) Bombardment of meteorites

2) Release of volcanic gases

3) Formation of oceans

4) Formation of Banded-Iron formation rocks

5) Appearance of Cyanobacteria

6) Increasing the level of oxygen in the atmosphere

7) Evolution of eukaryotes

Explanation:

The late heavy bombardment of meteorites have taken place about 4 billion years ago, which facilitates the initial creation of the atmosphere on earth.

During the time of meteorite bombardment, a large number of gases such as water vapor, CO₂, SO₂ were released from the upper crustal portion of the earth.

As these gases were released into the atmosphere, the earth's surface started to cool eventually and reached below the water boiling point. There occurred continuous rainfall for many centuries, which were accumulated on earth and formed the oceans.

When the oxygen reacts with iron that is found to be dissolved in the seawater forming iron oxides on the floor of the ocean, then the Banded Iron Formation (BIF) rocks were formed over a due course of time. The oldest BIF are recorded are about 3 billion years old, and it was formed during the time when there was a lesser amount of oxygen in the atmosphere.

After this, the cyanobacteria appeared, which enhanced the level of oxygen in the earth's atmosphere and ocean water by carrying out the process of photosynthesis. With the advancing of time, the oxygen level kept on increasing and evolution of life has taken place.

__________ causes ocean surface currents to be deflected from overall wind currents.
Goryan [66]
The coriolis effect does this. This is a inertial force that acts on objects that are in motion relative to a rotating reference frame. This means that when the earth rotates, objects in the north hemisphere is deflected to the right, while objects in the southern hemisphere are deflected to the left. This makes the winds shift left or right.

What economic issues should be considered during conservation?
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

Hybridization may drive rare taxa to extinction through genetic swamping, where the rare form is replaced by hybrids, or by demographic swamping, where population growth rates are reduced due to the wasteful production of maladaptive hybrids. Conversely, hybridization may rescue the viability of small, inbred populations. Understanding the factors that contribute to destructive versus constructive outcomes of hybridization is key to managing conservation concerns. Here, we survey the literature for studies of hybridization and extinction to identify the ecological, evolutionary, and genetic factors that critically affect extinction risk through hybridization. We find that while extinction risk is highly situation dependent, genetic swamping is much more frequent than demographic swamping. In addition, human involvement is associated with increased risk and high reproductive isolation with reduced risk. Although climate change is predicted to increase the risk of hybridization‐induced extinction, we find little empirical support for this prediction. Similarly, theoretical and experimental studies imply that genetic rescue through hybridization may be equally or more probable than demographic swamping, but our literature survey failed to support this claim. We conclude that halting the introduction of hybridization‐prone exotics and restoring mature and diverse habitats that are resistant to hybrid establishment should be management priorities.
