A nurse cares for a client with megaloblastic anemia who had a total gastrectomy three years ago. What statement will the nurse
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

B. "The condition is likely caused by a vitamin B12 deficiency."

Explanation:

Vitamin B complex plays important roles in maintaining the body, for example we have cobalamin (or vitamin B12) responsible, among others, for the synthesis of hemoglobin, and folic acid (or vitamin B9), which has the function to help in production and maintenance of new cells and DNA synthesis. The lack of such vitamins triggers a type of disorder called megaloblastic anemia.

Megaloblastic anemia is characterized by abnormal size and immaturity of red blood cells, as well as decreased leukocytes and platelets. On blood test (CBC) cells are normochromic (normal staining) and macrocytic (increased size).

Cobalamin deficiency may be related to poor intake of this vitamin; difficulty in absorption, such as in cases of inability of parental stomach cells to secrete intrinsic factor (a glycoprotein that binds to vitamin B12 to facilitate its absorption) or misuse, situations in which cobalamin is not synthesized. The lack of folic acid may also be related to poor intake, misuse, inefficient absorption or even in cases of increased need of the body, such as pregnancies, growth stages, among others.

Why are chewing tobacco and snuff often-called spitting tobacco?
Ipatiy [6.2K]
The answer here is pretty simple, they are called spitting tobacco because once you get done getting all of the flavor and nicotine out of it you then would spit it out, in some bars they actually have something called a "spittoon" that is literally a can that is used for spitting the tobacco in, chewing tobacco is really bad for you health because using it can result in tooth decay and gum disease  plus there are 28 different types of cancer causing chemicals in chewing tobacco which can result in gum cancer and esophagus cancer. It can also cause cardiovascular disease which can result in heart attacks.
In all actuality chewing tobacco is just as bad as smoking it

abruzzese [7]

Answer:

d. oral

Explanation:

During the oral phase, food-related activities such as sucking and chewing are the most important.

The main interaction source of the child is done through the mouth, which is of vital importance for food, but also the child through it gets pleasure thanks to satisfactory activities such as tasting and sucking. Because the baby is totally dependent on the caregivers (who are responsible for their feeding), the child also develops a sense of confidence and comfort through this oral stimulation.
