The movement of plates causes mountain ranges, ocean trenches, volcanoes, and earthquakes occur. There are three types of plate boundaries (divergent, convergent, and transform).
They shift under the Earth's surface and cause tremors and shakes. Gaps between them can let magma through, and if they push into each other and go up as they do (like pushing your hands into a tent shape) it can cause structures, like a volcano or mountain, to appear.
