The lesson that can be learned from this story is that you need to be a hard worker in order to succeed in life. The cricket spent his summer carefree and goofing off, and when winter came he regretted it because he did not work hard for his food like the ant did. Since the cricket goofed off instead of collecting food for winter, he ended up with nothing to eat and likely starved. (This is just an idea to consider, try playing off of this to answer the question)
