Raul received a score of 75 on a history test for which the class mean was 70 with a standard deviation of 7. He received a scor
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

history test

Step-by-step explanation:

Problems of normally distributed samples can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

In this problem, we have that:

He did better relative to the class in the test in which he had a higher Z score.

So:

History

Raul received a score of 75 on a history test for which the class mean was 70 with a standard deviation of 7. So we have X = 75, \mu = 70, \sigma = 7

So:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{75 - 70}{7}

Z = 0.71

Biology

He received a score of 73 on a biology test for which the class mean was 70 with standard deviation 7. So we have X = 73, \mu = 70, \sigma = 7

So:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{73 - 70}{7}

Z = 0.43

He had a higher Z score in the history test, so this is the test in which he did better relative to the rest of the class.

The equation of line k is y=−1/5x−1/8. What is the equation of the line that is perpendicular to line k and passes through (0, 0
Kruka [31]
For this i will not give the answer but i will guide you one how to do it

first of all if the line is perependicular to -1/5x-1/8 that mean its the opposite and swicht signs. so since jt only effects the slope the slpoe for the other equation will be from -1/5 to 5 since we flipped the fraction and flipped the sign. next it also says that the new line k has to pass through (0,0) that would mean since (x,y) equals (0,0) we would have to plug the x and y which is the two zeros giving us and equation like this
0=5(0)+b
if we make in it slope intercept form it would have to be y=mx+b
then if you slove for b you will put it into the equation
y=5x+b
text/chat me if you dont understand or you need the answer.
hope this helps

How do I substract 7/10 minus 3/15
Bond [772]

Answer: 0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

To reduce a fraction: divide the numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor, GCF.

Fraction: 7/10 already reduced to the lowest terms.

The numerator and denominator have no common prime factors.

Their prime factorization:

7 is a prime number;

10 = 2 × 5;

gcf (7; 2 × 5) = 1;
