What is the solutions of the inequality? 12x - 3x + 11 > 4x - ( 17 - 9x)
Alchen [17]
Hello,
For this 12x-3x+11>4x-(17-9x)let's rewrite it as:
12x-3x+11>4x-17+9x
Now combine like terms:
9x+11>13x-17
Subtract 9x and add 17 to get:

28>4x
Divide by 4:
7>x or rewritten as:
x<7
Make sense?

£150 is divided between Nick, June & Sushil so that Nick gets twice as much as June, and
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

Amount June get = £45

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Total amount divided = £150

Amount Nick get = 2 x Amount June get

Amount June get = 3 x Amount Sushil get

Find:

Amount divided between Nick June and Sushil

Computation:

Assume;

Amount Sushil get = a

Amount June get = 3 x Amount Sushil get

Amount June get = 3a

Amount Nick get = 2 x Amount June get

Amount Nick get = 2 x 3a

Amount Nick get = 6a

Amount Sushil get + Amount June get + Amount Nick get = Total amount

So,

a + 3a + 6a = 150

10a = 150

a = 15

So,

Amount Sushil get = £15

Amount June get = 3a

Amount June get = 3 x 15

Amount June get = £45

Amount Nick get = 6a

Amount Nick get = 6 x 15

Amount Nick get = £90

If you know the rate of a water leak in gallons per hour, how can you find the number of hours it takes for 1 gallon to leak out
Evgen [1.6K]

1/the rate of leakage per hour

This will give you the time it takes for 1 gallon to leak out in hours.

For example, if something is leaking at the rate of 12 gallons per hour, it will take 1/12 of an hour for 1 gallon to leak out. ( or 5 min)
