I'm not sure if this counts, but I've definitely gave in to eating at a restaurant that I didnt want to go in order to make my wife happy. Or another example is that if I told my friends that I would go hang out with them just to make them happy. Hope this helped give some examples.

It is clear that Lady Bracknell only cares about what Cecily looks like. If she wanted to know about her family history, her intelligence, or her education she would have asked Cecily some questions instead of just examining her appearance.

The speaker describes the animals being done with their work, and many animals "sitting" or "settling" for the evening. All of these words give the reader an image of a day winding down and calming down at twilight.
