A fat free diet is dangerous because IT CAN RESULT IN DEFICIENCY OF ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS.
Essential fatty acids refers to those fatty acids that humans must eat in their foods because the body can not synthesize them and they are required for good health. There are three type of essential fatty acids, these are arachidonic, linoleic and linolenic acids. When these essential fatty acid are absent in one's diet they lead to ill health.

Answer:

This question lacks options, the options are:

A) transporting ions against an electrochemical gradient

B) cell-cell recognition

C) maintaining fluidity of the phospholipid bilayer

D) attaching to the cytoskeleton

E) establishing the diffusion barrier to charged molecules

The answer is B

Explanation:

Generally, oligosaccharides are short chains of polysaccharides/carbohydrates. They make up the structure of membranes including the plasma membrane. Oligosaccharides attached to the protein content of the cell membrane to form a substance called GLYCOPROTEIN. The attached oligosaccharides functions in the ability for a cell to recognize another cell.

According to this question, if an animal whose cell is lacking oligosaccharides on the external surface of its plasma membrane, the most likely impairment would be that of CELL-CELL recognition.

Cyanobacteria are primitive organisms where chloroplasts are believed to be originated. These phototrophic organisms benefit the environmental and the clinical aspects because of their unique physiology. For instance, they contribute to energy attainment from sunlight which helps other organisms gain energy when this is consumed. Another is the contribution to biogeochemical cycles. And lastly, how these can aid in many medical discoveries and treatments.
