In this unit, we have been discussing the high art-low art continuum. I begin addressing this in the Fluxus lecture (see in part

icular the slide with the table and the following slide) and continue to bring in the concept during subsequent units on Neo-Dada and Pop, but it applies to this entire section on Art of the Everyday, the mid-1950s-60s including Nouveau Realisme. Discuss each of the following works in terms of the concept of high art. Remember that high artists in the 1960s often deliberately made choices that were intended to collapse either the high art and low art divide, or the art and non-art divide. Each of these works is a work of high art. What about each of them makes them high art? Each of these works also has aspects that would not traditionally be considered high art or art at all. What are these low art or non-art elements? What choices have the artists made that have the potential to diminish or detract from the high art status or art status of the work? NOUVEAU REALISME: Arman, Le Plein (Filled Up), 1960. Installation at Iris Clert Gallery, Paris. FLUXUS: Alison Knowles, #5 Street Piece (1962). Event score for performance. POP (LA): Edward Ruscha, Standard Station, Amarillo, Texas, 1963. Oil on canvas.

Which bob dylan song destroyed all previous restrictions on a pop single, including length, subject matter, and poetic diction?
geniusboy [140]
"Like a Rolling Stone". It was a breakthrough because it was made in a rock music format in which musician Al Kooper improvised the organ riff that is known in the track. The length at over six minutes and it features a heavy electric sound, thus it destroyed all previous restrictions on a pop single, including length, subject matter, and poetic diction.

Perfect fifth because you are going from do to so which is 5 steps apart :) so do to ti would be a perfect seventh since theyre seven steps apart. a perfect octave would be do to do.

Crank

According to historical context, when Run-DMC teamed up with Aerosmith on a new rendition of Aerosmith's song walk this way, the accompanying video’s acceptance onto MTV helped open the doors for rap to become more common music tv shows and in society.

The collaboration between the Run-DMC and Aerosmith occurred in 1986.

At the time of collaboration, Run-DMC were rap superstars who were on top of their music game.

However, Aerosmith was a rock band, famous in the 1970s but barely surviving by the mid-1980s.

But following their music collaboration, they changed the music game for good.

Hence, in this case, it is concluded that the correct answer is "Run DMC."
