Exploring new frontiers benifiets us in many ways. One way is that we have more land to create cities, farms, or anything we really wanted to. We also have more land to discover which means there could be a new animal there that can serve as scientific research as to what other species could live in this area.
I think breaking and searching frontiers can benefit us as a society is because exploring something new can bring new dangers and new benefits to society plus there is more land to use and less wars over the land because we have more land to share. Bringing new benefits to society can benefit it with new technologies and building materials to expand our civilization.
He leaves the astronomer's class to go look at the stars himself, which he found to be a better experience then just listening to someone talk about them.
