First assume that O be the point where the line segment ST and QR intersect eachother.

Given

with the help of the diagram

OQ = OR

∠QOT = ∠TOR =∠ ROS = ∠SOQ = 90°

First prove that ΔTOQ and Δ TOR is congurent triangle.

in Δ TOQ and ΔTOR

(1) QO = OR (As given in the diagram )

(2) ∠ TOQ = ∠TOR = 90°

(3) TO =TO (Common side of both triangle)

by using the SAS congurence property

ΔTOQ ≅ ΔTOR

thus

TQ = TR

(By corresponding sides of the congurent triangle)

We get

TR is line segment has the same measure as TQ.

Hence proved

Rashan buys 3 7/10 pounds of flour and Diego buys 2 3/4 pounds of flour they use 4 3/5 pounds of flour to bake bread. how much f
Alex787 [66]
To make this a bit easier we can convert the fractions to decimals, then add them up to find out how much flour they originally had. Rashan bought 3 7/10 pounds of flour, which becomes 3.7 pounds. Diego bought 2 3/4 pounds of flour, which becomes 2.75 pounds of flour. In total they both had 3.7 + 2.75 = 6.45 pounds of flour.

Now they used 4 3/5 pounds to bake some bread, which becomes 4.6 pounds. To find out how much flour they have left, we subtract the 4.6 from 6.45, which equals 1.85 pounds of flour left.

What are the intercepts of the line -5x-4y=10
Trava [24]
  • Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx + b, with m = slope and (0,b) as the y-intercept.

So starting with the y-intercept, the easiest method to find it is to convert this standard form equation to slope-intercept form. Firstly, add 5x to both sides:

-4y=5x+10

Next, divide both sides by -4 and your slope-intercept form is y=-\frac{5}{4}x-\frac{5}{2}

Looking at this slope-intercept form, the y-intercept is (0, -5/2).

Now to find the x-intercept, just set the y-variable to zero and solve:

-5x-4*0=10\\-5x=10\\x=-2

Our x-intercept is (-2,0).
