In this satirical essay, which Jonathan Swift titled, “A Modest Proposal,” he clearly depicted the best solution for the powers that be in Ireland to solve the problem of the Irish poor.  The English Lords and their Irish counterparts should systematically turn the children of the Irish poor into a meat delicacy.  With this, two objectives would be achieved.  The troublesome Irish population would be reduced to nothingness.  In addition, their bodies would provide delicious meals for the Lords.  He was ironically satirizing the fate of the Irish in the hands of their masters and proposing a solution that would help eradicate the inconveniences faced by the English lords based on the presence of the poor Irish people.

The 1729 "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift narrated the disastrous fate brought on Ireland under the control of England who refused to let Ireland be out of hatred of what they were.  The novel was made in the form of an economic treatise so that England could ease the burden and poverty of Ireland.  Jonathan proposed that poor Irish children should be served as snacks for the English Lords.  This novel came at a time England was exploiting Ireland out of hatred because they were Catholics.  Using this novel, Jonathan Swift lamented the poor condition of Ireland.
