Why does Mew Guinea have more species of birds than Bali

Geography
1 answer:
steposvetlana [31]3 years ago
8 0

Explanation:

Bali is a region in Indonesia. New Guinea is found in the Oceania and it is home to the largest Islands in the world.

New Guinea have more bird species than Bali because of more ecological space available to these avian animals.

With more space available for a specie comes the ability to improve diversity.

Bali has a lot of human control and need for available space. The ecological space available to attain diversity is therefore very limited.

What deos it mean for a satellite to be in geosynchronous orbit
slega [8]
It means that the satellite's orbital period is equal to the Earth's rotation period ... roughly 23 hours 56 minutes 4 seconds ... so that the satellite always stays over the same longitude.

IF that satellite's orbit has also been carefully placed over the equator, THEN the satellite is in a 'geostationary' orbit. It appears motionless in the sky, and can be used to sell 900 channels of TV to people with little dishes that they never need to move.

.. What is the average rainfall in mm's for the following cities:
Andrei [34K]

The average annual precipitation in these cities are:

Vancouver - 1457 mm

Edmonton - 456

Regina - 390

Toronto - 831

Halifax - 1468

Explanation:

Canada is enormous country, and of course it has large differences when it comes to the precipitation levels across its territory. In general, the closer a region is to the sea, the more precipitation it tends to get, to further a region is in the interior, the lower the precipitation. The exceptions of these rules are the areas in the interior that are around the Great Lakes, and the far north.

The Great Lakes are several enormous lakes which create a lot of humidity in the air, so despite being in the interior, the amount of precipitation is relatively good. The northern part of the country, despite being surrounded by sea, has very low precipitation levels, with the main reason being the polar climate.

This patterns can easily be seen by the five cities on the list. Vancouver and Halifax are located on places that are heavily influenced by the sea, so they have high precipitation levels. Toronto is right next to the Great Lakes and it has medium precipitation levels. Regina and Edmonton are located in the interior, far away from the wet air masses, thus they have relatively low precipitation levels.
