So if you have 5lbs for $0.90 you want to find the price of one, which would be 0.18 cents because 0.90 divided by 5 is 0.18. 8lbs for $1.25 you need to divide by 8 and you get 0.15625, but just simply to 0.15 or 5/32. So the second one is the better buy.

Well let’s see if there’s a least common multiple of 5 and 8. Since 40 is the least common mult. We will multiply 40 x .90 and 40 x 1.25 . 40x.90 is 36 while 40x1.25 is 50. It’s better to buy eight pounds for 1.25!
