What was " doing our bit"?

History
1 answer:
bixtya [17]2 years ago

This is tricky. It could be either A or D. It would definitely have to do with buying war bonds, but it also has to do with helping in whatever way you can for the war (i.e. Not eating bread on certain days, working extra hours building missiles, buying war bonds, etc.) because buying war bonds is more specific than just "helping out in whatever way", I would say that it is A.

Hope I helped! :) (would you mind giving Brainliest? I'm trying to increase my title. I'd really appreciate it!)

What was the relationship between Congress and President Johnson during presidential Reconstruction?
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

The Congress men supported the president

Explanation:

Frustrated by Johnson's actions, Congress proposed the Fourteenth Amendment to the states, and the amendment was ratified in 1868. As the conflict between the branches of government grew, Congress passed the Tenure of Office Act, restricting Johnson's ability to fire Cabinet officials.

Most moderate Republicans in Congress supported the president's proposal for Reconstruction because they wanted to bring a swift end to the war, but other Republicans feared that the planter aristocracy would be restored and the blacks would be forced back into slavery.
