Answer:

The glacier have high albedos the melting of ice in summers produces a positive mechanism.

Explanation:

 • Over the time period, the ice melts and this leads to exposure of the dark grey rocks and causes more melting of the mountain glacier. The reflection from glacier snow is highest as ice absorbs less sunlight and keeps the surface cooler.
 • Thus reflecting back 90% of sunlight, in summer months due to the erosion agents the ice begins to move and this adds to the positive feedback mechanism that melts glaciers.

Rasek [7]

Answer: Hypothesis: is a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.

Theory: a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.

Both: A hypothesis is either a suggested explanation for an observable phenomenon, or a reasoned prediction of a possible causal correlation among multiple phenomena. A theory is always backed by evidence; a hypothesis is only a suggested possible outcome, and is testable and falsifiable. ...In science, a theory is a tested, well-substantiated, unifying explanation for a set of verified, proven factors.
