While reading Inkheart the most shocking discovery about the plot was finding out the reason as to why her father never reads out loud. The reason being that anything he reads out loud comes to life,which you can imagine could reek havock. Later in the story it is revealed as to what happened to her mother and that was the most surprising detail to hear. I do wonder though if the father, Mo, were to read a news paper or somthing out loud as to what will happen? Will it really come to life as well or if there are certain rules.
