The body loses water in a variety of ways. Put the water output mechanisms in order from greatest contribution to fluid loss (1)
kirza4 [7]

The maximum to minimum body water loss occurs by: Urine production, Skin losses, Lung respiration and minimum by Feces

What are the ways in which body loses water ?

Through breathing, sweating, and peeing, the body continuously loses water. You become dehydrated if you don't drink enough water or other liquids.

The majority of fluid loss happens through the stools, sweat, and urine, but it's not only those things. The quantity of body fluid lost daily through the skin, respiratory system, and water in the feces that cannot be readily measured is known as insensible fluid loss.

Physical exercise also influences increased respiratory water loss due to the increased expiratory volume and frequency of breathing. Various environmental elements like temperature, humidity, radiation, and atmospheric pressure mostly affect sweating and urine water loss.

Which description accurately describes the cell membrane?
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

b. a semi-permeable double layer of phospholipids that have hydrophilic heads and hydrophobic tails

Explanation:

B is correct as the cell membrane is selectively semi-permeable. It is selectively semi-permeable because this quality allows it to control what can and can't enter the cell, and how it does so.

The cell membrane also has a phospholipid bi-layer comprised of a double layer of phospholipids which have hydrophilic head and hydrophobic tails. This is because the heads are made of phosphate and are polar and are therefore attracted to water (hydrophilic), while the tails are made of lipids (i.e. fats, oils) which do not mix with water and are therefore hydrophobic.

The properties of each phospholipid is also why they form the double layer structure, the hydrophilic heads naturally face outwards into the water and protect the hydrophobic tails on the inside.

Hope this helped!

You are correct, A is the right answer.

Because there is more water outside of this cell, there will be a net movement of water into the cell - osmosis

Sometimes a species' trait is not actually an adaptation because: it result from other properties hitchhiker effect it is an exa
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

hitchhiker effect

it is an exaptation

Explanation:

Adaptation is a property which occurs due to change in the environmental conditions of an organism. Some traits of organisms are not adaptation because sometimes the function of a trait changes due to evolution which we called exaptation. It also occurs due to hitchhiker effect, this effect occurs when the change occurs in the frequency of allele not due to natural selection but due to selective sweep with the nearby gene.
