In which country was punishment greatest for choosing a religion different from the monarch’s?
ivann1987 [24]
Hi !

ANSWER = C

In France, French Monarchy was Catholic and Calvinist Protestantism was deeply repressed.
It led to the French Wars of Religions, 8 wars, from 1562 till 1588.
About 3 millon people died.
It's the second deadliest religious war (the first one was the "Guerre de 30 ans". - "The Thirty Year's War")
I didn't answer this one, because it happened all over Europe, except England and Russia.......

The "Edit de Nantes" (Edict of Nantes) in 1598 will mark the end of the Wars of Religion and a light acceptance  of protestantism

hope I helped :)

Why did Athens have olive oil and wine to trade with other places?
geniusboy [140]

Athens is located in Greece, and Greece is a country that has a Mediterranean climate. The Mediterranean climate, as well as the soil type in Greece, is a natural place for the growth of olive trees and wine trees that produce fruits of high quality. Athens used this, and by making products from both of these trees, olive oil from the olive trees, and wine from the wine trees, they were making a lot of wealth because of this products were in high demand and not many places had the conditions for growing these trees and making products from them. Also Athens was very active in the sea trade and had contacts all over the Mediterranean, and that just opened up a larger market for their products.
