In France, French Monarchy was Catholic and Calvinist Protestantism was deeply repressed. It led to the French Wars of Religions, 8 wars, from 1562 till 1588. About 3 millon people died. It's the second deadliest religious war (the first one was the "Guerre de 30 ans". - "The Thirty Year's War") I didn't answer this one, because it happened all over Europe, except England and Russia.......
