-5x-12= 13 (find the x)
prisoha [69]

Answer:

-5

Step-by-step explanation:

-5x-12= 13 add 12 to both sides

-5x-12 + 12= 13 + 12 ➡ -5x = 25 divide both sides by 5

-5x ÷ 5 = 25 ÷ 5 ➡ -x = 5 and x = -5

An investor has an account with stock from two different companies. Last year, his stock in Company A was worth $1790 and his st
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

20.7%

Step-by-step explanation:

Amount of stock increased in Company A = 20% of 1790

           = 0.20 * 1790 = $ 358

Investor's stock in company A this year = 1790 + 358 = $ 2148

Amount of stock increased in Company B = 22% of 1000

           = 0.22 * 1000= $ 220

Investor's stock in company B this year = 1000 + 220 = $ 1220

Total amount in investor's stock account  = 2148 + 1220 = $ 3368

Increased amount = 3368 - 2790 = $ 578

Increase percentage = \frac{578}{2790}*100 = 20.71

                                   = 20.7%

The figure consists of a chord, a secant, and a tangent to the circle. The diagram is not drawn to scale.What is the value of x?
expeople1 [14]
From secant theorem, 16^2 = 8(12 + y); where y is the missing length of the secant.
256 = 8(12 + y)
12 + y = 32
y = 32 - 12 = 20

From chord theorem, 4x = 4(20)
x = 20

Help me with this please
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

1) 1

2) -2/5

3) 2

4) 5/3

5) 0

Step-by-step explanation:

So basically you take the y's (x,y) and you subtract them. If you were to subtract them from left to right, you subtract the x's (x,y) left to right as well.

If you decide to subtract from right to left for y's you do the same for x's.

Then after you have a fraction you will either divide if able to or you keep it as a fraction.

For example number 1 is (0,3) and (1,4)... You will take the y's which is 3 and 4. You will then subtract left to right or right to left. Doing so will get you to 1 for the y. For the x's you do the same. The x's are 1 and 0. Which will be subtracted the same direction as the y's. the ending fraction will be 1/1  ... The top will always be the y subtraction answer and the bottom will always be the x subtraction answer.
