Mathematics

Answer: 9/16

Step-by-step explanation:5/8-(1/4^2)

P.E.M.D.A.S= Parenthesis, Exponents,  Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction

Parenthesis 1st so 1/4 to the second power= 1/4 * 1/4= 1/16 so now we have, 5/8-1/16 so we have to get a common denominator so we multiply 5/8 by 2 to get a common denominator of 16 and end up getting 10/16 because whatever you do to the denominator you must do to the numerator so now we have, 10/16-1/16 so we subtract 1 from 10 and end up with 9/16.

Hope this helped!

ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

2,075,673,600 batting orders may occur.

Step-by-step explanation:

The order of the first eight batters in the batting order is important. For example, if we exchange Jonathan Schoop with Adam Jones in the lineup, that is a different lineup. So we use the permutations formula to solve this problem.

Permutations formula:

The number of possible permutations of x elements from a set of n elements is given by the following formula:

P_{(n,x)} = \frac{n!}{(n-x)!}

First 8 batters

8 players from a set of 16. So

P_{(16,8)} = \frac{16!}{(16 - 8)!} = 518918400

Last batter:

Any of the four pitchers.

How many different batting orders may occur?

4*518918400 = 2,075,673,600

2,075,673,600 batting orders may occur.

I think the answe is c can somebody help me out ?
Alekssandra [29.7K]
Answer:
angle V = 60 degrees
angle U = 90 degrees
angle W = 30 degrees
This is the last option

Explanation:
Part a: getting angle U:
Let's start by doing the Pythagorean check:
hypotenuse = sqrt [(side1)^2 + (side2)^2]
side1 = 3√3 and side2 = 3 cm
Substitute in the above equation:
hypotenuse = sqrt [ (3√3)^2 + (3)^2]
hypotenuse = 6 cm
This proves that the given triangle is right-angled at U
Therefore:
measure angle U = 90 degree

Part b: getting angle V:
cos theta = adjacent / hypotenuse
theta is angle V
adjacent side = 3 cm
hypotenuse = 6 cm
Therefore:
cos V = 3/6 = 1/2
V = 60 degrees

Part c: getting angle W:
We can get this using two methods:
Method 1:
Angles of triangle = 180
180 = 90 + 60 + angle W
angle W = 180 - (90+60) = 30 degrees
Method 2:
cos theta = adjacent / hypotenuse
theta is W
adjacent = 3√3 cm
hypotenuse = 6 cm
Therefore:
cos W = 3√3 / 6 = √3 / 2
W = 30 degrees

Hope this helps :)
