The British goals after the Berlin conference was to create a series of British colonies all linked by a railroad.

By the 1880's, imperialism was rapidly growing in Africa and a conference needed to be created in order to "divede" the continent and establish norms and rules for future imperialism. Cecil Rhodes was a British colonizer and business man who out a lot of effort towadrs the creation of the railroad through British territory. Cecil Rhodes's project was initiated but never completed.
