This can lead to conflict because in certain areas of the world we have non-democratic regimes whose goal is to preserve the political status they have. This are usually the regimes that autocratic, sometimes even totalitarian and the ideals of Democracy are not acceptable to them.

Explanation:

We even had examples when United States tried to introduce ideals of democracy into certain countries, that led to conflicts. That is why it is sometimes almost impossible to present these ideals, as they are not to be accepted by leading elites.
