Look closely at the three pictures below. Which culture is each picture from?
vfiekz [6]
The first one might be from ancient Egypt, but I'm not 100%. I don't know about the culture for the last two but comparing them, I see the first one has lots of animals and people on it, which the other two don't have. one thing different about the second one is that it is only a singular thing and I can see that it is a lot more emotional than the other ones. one thing different about the last one is that it has a lot more symmetrical designs and is more abstract without animals/humans. now some things similar to the first and last are that there are a lot of small things that collectively add to the piece. and some similarities to the first and second are that it (looks like) they have something living in them.

1. What were the three forms of English madrigals? Describe each type.
Helga [31]

Answer:

1)The three forms of English Madrigal were the Madrigal Proper, Ballet, and the Ayre. The madrigal proper matches much of the melody to words in the text. The ballet is mainly danced and sometimes sang to. The ayre, however was performed in many different ways, with or without auxiliary.

2)Chorales were the melodies that were easy to be sung, normally based on folk songs of the time and are still important in protestant churches today. However, Printing press is the reason behind its popularity.

3)A consort is an instrumental ensemble that consist of six instruments such as a lute, flute, bandore, violin, cittern, and a kind of viola.

4)Guillaume Dufay was an early renaissance composer, Brussels born Franco-Flemish who wrote music in almost every musical form.

5)William Byrd was an English composer who made consort music.

Explanation:

1)Madrigal proper were composed of around three to six unaccompanied voices each with a stimulating line to sing.

Ballet is a much lighter form than that of Madrigal proper. It is more about the strophic music and usually is danced to.

However, Ayre is unrestricted and can be performed with or without accompanied. It can convoyed by various instruments as well.

2)The printing press created an opportunity for people to produce copies of music much faster and more efficiently and also allowed music to range throughout society.

3)A consort is often referred as a family of instruments that plays together.

4)Guillaume Dufay’s written music and books were disseminated across Europe which made a large influence for future composers.

5)William Byrd is known for composing over 470 pieces of music as well as being considered a genius on the keyboard .

RoseWind [281]
