Answer: 7/8 is bigger and 1/3 is smaller

Step-by-step explanation:

0.875 is the decimal version of 7/8 and 0.333333333... is the decimal verision  of 1/3.  The difference is that 7/8's is bigger.  If you want to compare fraction-wise you have to make them have the same denominator by doing that you have to mulitpy 7/8's by 3 which is 21/24 and you have to do the same thing to 1/3 so you have to mulitpy 1/3 by 8 to get 24 which makes 1/3 into 8/24.  So now you got 8/24 and 21/24.  Which one is bigger?  Yep, 21/24.  Please give me brainliest.  I do well explaining it.

I know that the balloon weighs about 210 kg. The balloon itself weighs 7/9 out of this. The rest of the weight is composed of sa
Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

Gas Tanks weighs 20/3kg i.e. 6.67kg while Sacks weighs 40kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Total weight = 210kg

Balloon Weight = \frac{7}{9} *210\\Balloon Weight = \frac{490}{3}kg

Balloon Weight = 163.33kg

Remaining Weight = 210 - (490/3)

=\frac{630-490}{3}

=46.67kg

Let the weight of Gas tank = g

Let the weight of Sacks = s

This remaining weight comprises of weight of Sacks and Gas Tanks.

i.e.

g+s = 140/3 = 46.67

As given that,

g=\frac{1}{6}*s

So,

s(\frac{1}{6}+1) = \frac{140}{3}

s(\frac{7}{6} ) = \frac{140}{7}

s=40kg

As provided

Now to find g:

g+s = 140/3

g=\frac{140}{3}-s\\=\frac{140}{3} -40\\=\frac{20}{3}kg\\=6.67kg

A student visiting the Sears Tower Skydeck is 1353 feet above the ground. Find the distance the student can see to the horizon.
Daniel [21]

Answer:

45\ miles

Step-by-step explanation:

we have that

d=\sqrt{1.5h}

where

d is the distance in miles to the horizon

h is the height of the viewer’s eyes above the ground in feet

In this problem we have

h=1,353\ ft

substitute the value of h in the expression

d=\sqrt{1.5(1,353)}=45\ miles
