Answer:

present value = 13313.50

Explanation:

given data

bond = $10,000

interest = 18% per year = 9% per semi annual period

bond matures = 10 years = 20 semi annual period

purchaser can earn =  12% per year compounded quarterly = 3% per quater

so efftive semi annual rate is

efftive semi annual rate = (1+3%)² - 1

efftive semi annual rate = 6.09%

and

we get here coupon paymnet that is

coupon payment = 9% × $10,000

coupon payment = $900

so present value is

present value = 900 (P/A,6.09%,20) + 10000 (P/F,6.09%,20)

present value = 900 × 11.3865  +  10000 × 0.3065

present value = 13313.50

What should you include in the opening of a direct claim letter? a. A justification of your request b. A clear statement of the
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

Hi

The answers are b) and c)

Explanation:

The letter of complaint is used to file a complaint or a claim about a product or service that has left us unsatisfied or does not correspond to the price as previously agreed. To make this type of letter you need to sort the ideas. This type of correspondence must be clear and concise. It should be clear to avoid useless preambles and explanations at all times and should go directly to the statement of the reason for the claim. Hints and allusions can only lead to confusion, as the recipient has to decipher what is so unclear in the complaint letter.

A business operated at 100% of capacity during its first month and incurred the following costs: Production costs (20,000 units)
prohojiy [21]

Answer:

If 1,500 units remain unsold at the end of the month, the amount of inventory that would be reported on the variable costing balance sheet is $52,500

Explanation:

For computing how much amount  is recorded in the balance sheet, first we have to calculate the per unit cost.

The formula to compute the per unit cost is shown below:

= Total production cost ÷ Number of units

where,

Total production cost = Direct labor + Direct material + Variable factory overhead

= 240,000 + $180,000 + 280,000

= $700,000

And, the number of unit is 20,000 units

Now, put these values on the above equation which is equals to

= $700,000 ÷ 20,000

= $35 per unit

After that, multiply the per unit cost with unsold units

In mathematically,

= 1,500 units × $35 per unit

= $52,500

Hence, If 1,500 units remain unsold at the end of the month, the amount of inventory that would be reported on the variable costing balance sheet is $52,500

A newly issued 10-year maturity, 4% coupon bond making annual coupon payments is sold to the public at a price of $800. What wil
madam [21]

Answer:

40 dolllar for interest income

Explanation:

The taxable income will be the interest for the annual coupon payment:

$1,000 face value x 4% = $40

The purchase price will be considered for taxation purpose under capital gain if the bond is sold which is not the case. Thus, we must only determinate taxes considering the interest income from the coupon payment.

Explain and evaluate the following statements:
ELEN [110]

Answer:

A) This statement refers to the fact that money is great as a medium of exchange, because it is accepted by people, and it's easy to tansport.

B) Money has three functions: as a store of value, as a unit of account, and as means of exchange. When a society thinks that something (be it coins, bills, cigarrettes) has those three functions, it becomes money.

C) The government issues treasure bonds that are bought by the central bank, the money the central bank pays from these bonds enters the market. Commercial banks also borrow from the central bank. These funds they borrow are used to make loans, and put more money in the market.

D) Money has value as long as it is exchanged for goods and services. Even if a person hoards money for a long period of time, that person does so because he or she expects the money to gain value, or because he or she wants to save for the future.

E) This statement is describing what inflation is. Inflation is the rate of price increase in time. When there is more money than goods and services in an economy, money itself loses value and all the prices expressed in monetary value increase.

F) The statement is true. If a central bank creates too much money, it will lead to inflation, or even hyperinflation.
