Question 3.

First lets multiply the fractions. We do this by multiplying the numerators together and by multiplying the denominators together:

\frac{1}{3} × \frac{5}{6} = \frac{5}{18}

(Numerator:  1 x 5 = 5          Denominator: 3 x 6 = 18)

Now that we know that the product is \frac{5}{18} we know that it is <u>not</u> an integer or a natural number, since the product is a fraction and <u>not a whole number</u>. Also, fractions are <u>never </u>irrational numbers - they are <u>always rational.</u>

So the <em>A</em><em>nswer</em> is D) Rational numbers

--------------------

Question 4

We can re-write (\frac{3x}{5} -7) +7 as \frac{3x}{5} -7 + 7

This makes it clear that the -7 and the +7 <u>cancel out </u> (  -7 + 7 = 0)

This means that we are left with \frac{3x}{5} as the Answer

Answer: \frac{3x}{5}   (option 2)

--------------------

Question 5

The perimeter of a rectangle is just all the 4 sides <u>added</u><u> </u>up together.

Since the shape is a rectangle, all the long sides (lengths) are the same and all the short sides (widths) are the same.

So for example, if the length the rectangle was 4, and the width was 2,    then the perimeter would be 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 12

Now lets do the same with the rectangle in your question:

[4x + 3] + [4x + 3] + [2x] + [2x]

Now we collect all of the similar terms. For example we add up all of the x values  and all of the normal numbers:

Answer: 4x + 3 + 4x + 3 + 2x + 2x = 12x + 6     (The last option)

<em>(4x + 4x +2x + 2x = 12x       and 3 + 3 = 6.  So the answer is 12x +6)</em>

given sin theta = -3/5 and csc theta -5/3 in quadrant 3, find the value of other trigonometric functions using a Pythagorean Ide
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

cos theta = -4/5.

sec theta = -5/4.

tan theta = 3/4.

cot theta = 4/3.

Step-by-step explanation:

sin^2 theta + cos^2 theta = 1

(-3/5)^2 + cos^2 theta = 1

cos^2 theta = 1 - 9/25

cos^2 theta = 16/25

cos theta = -4/5 (negative because  it is in Quadrant 3).

sec theta = 1 / cos theta = -5/4.

tan theta = sin theta / cos theta = -3/5 / - 4/5

= -3/5 * -5/4

=  3/4.

cot theta  =  1 / tan theta = 4/3.

Which graph represents Y as a function of X ?
inna [77]

Answer:

Which graph represents Y as a function of X ?

step-by-step explanation:

a. The graph of y = 2x represents a transformation of the parent function, y = x, which makes the graph twice as steep.

b. The graph of y = 2x represents a transformation of the parent function, y = x, which makes the graph half as steep.

c. The graph of y = x represents a transformation of the parent function, y = 2x, which makes the graph half as steep.

d. The graph of y = x represents a transformation of the parent function, y = 2x, which makes the graph twice as steep.

Which number is the additive inverse of -4 and 1/4 of a -4 1/4 b -1/4 c 1/ 4 d 4 1/4. What's the answer
Grace [21]

Answer:

The additive inverse of -4 and \frac{1}{4} is 4 and \frac{-1}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given numbers -4 and \frac{1}{4}

We have to find the additive inverse of the given numbers.

Additive inverse is the number added to a given number that the sum of number is equal to zero. that is a+(-a)=0

For given number a = -4

Let number x is added to -4 so that result is 0

-4+(x)=0 ⇒ x = 4

Thus, additive inverse of -4 is +4.

For given number a = \frac{1}{4}

Let additive inverse be x,

\frac{1}{4}+x=0

⇒ x=\frac{-1}{4}

Thus, additive inverse of \frac{1}{4} is \frac{-1}{4}

Thus, the additive inverse of -4 and \frac{1}{4} is 4 and \frac{-1}{4}
