Question:
"In this unit, you solved two-step equations. A two-step equation is an equation of the form px + q = r. It takes two steps to solve for the variable x. For example, 3x + (-5) = 19 is a two-step equation. How could you transform this particular equation to create a three-step equation? List several ways you could transform it using common math operations."

Second part:
"Next, try solving one of the three-step equations you created for x. (Use a guess and check strategy, if necessary.) What additional step was required to find the solution? In your opinion, is solving a three-step equation more difficult than solving a two-step equation? Why or why not? Do you think there is a limit to the number of steps it takes to solve an equation? Explain."

First part 3x+(-5)=19 you need to remove parenthesis move the constant -5 to the right to have 3x=19+5 then add those to get 3x=24 then divide to get x=8

Talia sells educational software for a yearly salary of $65,000 plus a 2.65% commission on her total sales. If Talia sells $2.5
Bad White [126]

Answer:

$131250

Step-by-step explanation:

Talia's earnings during one year are equal to her base yearly salary ($65000) added to her commission. Now, to know the commission it is necessary to find the 2.65% of her total sales ($2.5 million)

Step 1. Divide the total sales or 2,500,000 by 100 considering this represents the total or 100%

2,500,000 ÷ 100 = 25000

Step 2. Multiply this number by the specific percentage (2.65)

25000 x 2.65 = 66250

Now add the commission and the yearly salary

65000 + 66250 = 131250

Hence, total earnings of Talia were $131250
