Which line from the excerpt employs imagery in the form of a metaphor
Mazyrski [523]
You did not provide the excerpt, however, imagery is using words to create images by describing every aspect of some entity. A metaphor is a type of figurative language that compares one thing to another, such as calling a man a lion because of his bravery. You can use this logic to find the correct answer in your excerpt.

An argumentative essay does all of the following, except:
Oxana [17]

Answer:

d. Get the reader to agree with your point of view

Explanation:

An argumentative writing can be defined as an expression of a writer's position (stance) on a subject matter or topic.

A claim can be defined as a statement that is used by a writer to prove, substantiate or support an argument.

Thus, a claim is an assertive statement expressed by a writer to prove that an argument is true or real.

This ultimately implies that, when writers engage in an argument or write an argumentative essay, they make use of a claim to state or express their opinions about the subject matter or topic.

An argumentative essay does all of the following;

a. Uses research and reason to create a logical argument.

b. Introduce a claim.

c. Support your claim with evidence.

A supporting evidence would help you in assessing and determining the credibility of the author's claims. Also, it's used to check whether or not the conclusion drawn from the claims are reliable, logical, and trustworthy.

A persuasive essay can be defined as a type of essay in which the aim or goals of the writer is to convince the readers (audience) to accept their own point of view, perspective, ideas or opinions. Thus, the main purpose of a persuasive essay is to inform an action in the minds of the potential readers by accepting all or part of the ideas, views, or perception being expressed by the writer.

In conclusion, getting the reader to agree with your point of view is a characteristic of a persuasive essay.
