What were the arguments for and against ratification in the constitution?
liberstina [14]
Arguments for the ratification:

It'll make the country more united under a stronger central government.

Stronger central government means stronger economy and foreign relations.

The government will be able to execute and enforce laws better.

There will be a balance of powers under the bicameral legislature and checks and balances.

The new constitution will appoint an executive head of the country.

The government will be able to create a strong military without permission from the states.

The states will still be having their own government as long as they follow the national constitution.

Arguments against ratification:

The states won't be as powerful as they were under the Articles of Confederation.

The central government could become oppressive.

State representation was an issue.
