I would say “the author build suspense by using a series of analogies.”

However I’m not 100% sure that this is correct.

Wish you luck :)

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!
Alexxandr [17]

Question:

It was Bonnie. Why?

Answer:

Bonnie wanted to help! She was trying to get out of trouble.

Explanation:

The officers had cajoled one of the Barrow gang’s relatives into standing by the roadside pretending his truck had broken down. Bonnie and Clyde stopped to help. One of the police opened fire, killing Clyde instantly. The car began to slowly roll forward as Bonnie screamed and the posse started shooting in earnest. Later, one of the men estimated they’d fired off 150 shots.

Initially, the six officers claimed they’d simultaneously sprung from the bushes and yelled, “Halt!” Later accounts had one of the younger lawmen shooting without warning, with the others following his lead. Either way, the police knew that Bonnie and Clyde didn’t hesitate to shoot their way out of trouble, and had loaded up on guns accordingly. They were ready to kill, and Bonnie and Clyde never fired a shot.
