In a football (soccer) league, teams receive 3 points for a win (W), 2 points for a tie (T) and 1 point for a loss (L).
Marrrta [24]
A) Total points = 3W + 2T + 1L

b) (3*5) + (2*2) + (3*1)
15 + 4 + 3 = 22
The Black Scot’s total points were 22

c) so, Wins + Ties + Losses = 10 because there were only 10 games played. but we also have to remember that we only can have 22 points. I just randomly plug in numbers until I get what I am looking for.

so I did 4 wins, 4 ties, and 2 losses. this is a total of 10 games, and the points equal 22. we just plug those values into our first equation:
(3*4) + (2*4) + (1*2)
12 + 8 + 2 = 22 points

Nadya [2.5K]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer: about 12 years ( approx 11.9 years)

Discussion:

Salary at ...

end of year 1:  25000 + (.06) * 25000

end of year 2: (salary at end of year 1) +

                                 .06(salary at end of year 1) =

                       (25000 + (.06)*25000) +

                 .06 (25000 + (.06)*25000)

           The bold faced terms are the same. Factor out the boldfaced term to

           get

                     (25000 + .06*25000) ( 1 + .06)

            Factor 25000 out to get

                    25000 * (1 + .06) * (1+ .06)

            The last two terms multiple out to give (1 + .06)^2

            so....

end of nth year salary is

           25000 * ( 1 + .06) ^n

To double her salary we need to find "n" such that

         50000 = 25000 ( 1.06) ^ n

Dividing both sides by 25000 gives

        2 = 1.06 ^n

Taking the logarithm of both sides gives:

log2 = n * log (1.06)   or

n = log2 / log(1/06)

This is approximately 0.3010 / 0.0253 or about 11.9 years.

Thank you,

MrB

Damian needs to buy 5 pints of juice but the store doesn't sell juice in pints, so damian buys 3 quarts of juice. does damian bu
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

Damain has bought enough juice.

Step-by-step explanation:

1 qt(quart) = 2 pints.

3 qt = 6 pints.

6 pints > 5 pints (6 pints is bigger than 5 pints)

Therefore, Damain has bought enough juice.

Solve for x. Show each step of the solution.
2.5(4-x)+12=21-4(2.5x+7)
erastova [34]

Answer:

x=-58/15

Step-by-step explanation:

distribute first 10-2.5x+12=21-10x-28

Simplify(add the numbers) 22-2.5x=-7-10x

move the variable to the left side 22-2.5x+10x=-7

move the constant to the right side -2.5x+10x=-7-22

simplify like terms 7.5x=-29

divide by 7.5                       x=-58/15

alternate forms are x=-3 13/15                or  x=-3.86

Anne creates necklaces and rings to sell. It takes her 3 hours to make a necklace and 1 hour to make a ring. If she makes 10 ite
charle [14.2K]
Hi! to solve the question, how many necklaces did anne make in 16 hours if she makes 10 items in 2 standard 8-hour work days, we should first check the time she needs to make each item.

3 individual hours to make a necklace, and 1 hour to make a ring. according to the problem, she made 10 items in 16 hours. this problem will most likely be trial and error. let’s try one first guess.

my first guess will be, maybe she will make 6 rings and 4 necklaces. 6 times 1 is 6, which takes 6 hours for the rings. 4 times 3 is equal to 12. 6 + 12 is too high! let’s try again.

what about 6 rings and 2 necklaces? 6 times 1 is 6, so that’s 6 hours. 2 times 3 is 6 hours! 6 plus 6 is 12, which is close, but not quite there!

let’s try 7 rings and 3 necklaces! 7 times 1 is 7 hours. 3 times 3 is equal to 9 hours! total that together, 7 plus 9, is equal to 16 hours spent!

so, the answer would be, “Anne made 7 rings and 3 necklaces within 16 hours.” hope this helped!:)
