But, of course as with all geopolitical issues there would not always be buddy buddy.  Franklin Delano Roosevelt who was Trumans Predisesor and his sidecick as he was VP led the United States into the fray of the worlds ordeals. Truman saw the threat of communism and after a war torn Europe it became clear reconstruction was necessary so that one could see the light of democracy. If not the quick benifit of the alluring communistic ideals could take a hold on Western Europe and all that fighting would be for nought as just a new form of totalitarians replaced that of old.
