Answer:

In the essay, “Sociology of Leopard Man”, Logan Feys talks about conformation and how people are being affected by it. The author introduces the idea of changing your feelings, looks, beliefs, or actions in order to fit in with a group. My opinion is that it is not a good idea. I believe that changing your personality is fine if you are doing it because you want to do it. If you are changing because other people in society are doing it, then I would say that it is wrong. They may be wanting to change because they want to be viewed by society as normal. Society forces individual people to conform to their beliefs. This is affecting people’s lives as it gives them more to think about when they are in public as they are worrying about what others think.

As humans, we all conform to one idea or another. These ideas can have positive and negative effects on the people and the world around us. We are unable to avoid conformity, but we can still show our individuality. In Norman Spencer's article, “You are a conformist (That Is, You Are Human),” states that all humans conform to ideas that might not necessarily cause problems, but there are instances where the choices people make can cause immense harm to others around them. Logan Feys’ biography, “The Sociology of Leopard Man,” claims that people who act out of the ordinary, or who are considered as freaks by society, live a happier life than the “slaves of society.”

Many students in school want to be in the group that is considered to be the “popular” or “cool” group. I believe that there are different meanings for word cool as it just varies depending on a person’s interest. For example, one may like rock music, so they think that people who listen to rock are cool. Instead of changing yourself, it would be better if you just find a group with the same interests. Changing yourself just to be able to be like everyone else is idiotic. The thing that is wrong in our society is that we are not all acceptable to being different or being independent. In a school setting, people may be looked upon as “freaks” just for being an individual.

Explanation:

Because a fixed mindset is a mindset that cannot be changed or that the person doesn't want to learn more. Neuroplasticity is a mind that allows more pathways in your mind.
