The process that produces Sonora Bars (a type of candy) is intended to produce bars with a mean weight of 56 gm. A random sample

of 49 candy bars yields a mean weight of 55.82 gm and a sample standard deviation of 0.77 gm. Find the test statistic to see whether the candy bars are smaller than they are supposed to be.

Answer:

t=\frac{55.82-56}{\frac{0.77}{\sqrt{49}}}=-1.636

Step-by-step explanation:

Data given and notation

\bar X=55.82 represent the sample mean

s=0.77 represent the standard deviation for the sample

n=49 sample size

\mu_o =56 represent the value that we want to test

\alpha represent the significance level for the hypothesis test.

t would represent the statistic (variable of interest)

p_v represent the p value for the test (variable of interest)

State the null and alternative hypotheses.

We need to conduct a hypothesis in order to determine if the mean is less than 56, the system of hypothesis would be:

Null hypothesis:\mu \geq 56

Alternative hypothesis:\mu < 56

We don't know the population deviation, so for this case is better apply a t test to compare the actual mean to the reference value, and the statistic is given by:

t=\frac{\bar X-\mu_o}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}} (1)

t-test: "Is used to compare group means. Is one of the most common tests and is used to determine if the mean is (higher, less or not equal) to an specified value".

Calculate the statistic

We can replace in formula (1) the info given like this:

t=\frac{55.82-56}{\frac{0.77}{\sqrt{49}}}=-1.636

4x/5 + 2/3 + 1x/5 = x
Ksju [112]

Answer:

There are no solutions.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

4x/5+2/3+1x/5=x

4/5x+2/3+1/5x=x

(4/5x+1/5x)+(2/3)=x(Combine Like Terms)

x+23=x

x+23=x

Step 2: Subtract x from both sides.

x+2/3−x=x−x

2/3=0

Step 3: Subtract 2/3 from both sides.

2/3−2/3=0−2/3

0=−2/3

Answer:

There are no solutions.

Akio found 18 cents in his pocket. He found 6 more coins in his pocket. Altogether he has 73 cents. What were the 6 coins he fou
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

1 quarter, 1 dime, and 4 nickels

Step-by-step explanation:

First you subtract the 18 cents that were found in the pocket from the total amount of 73 cents to get the total amount of the 6 other coins:

73-18=55.

So the total amount of the 6 coins equals 55 cents.

The quarter = 25 cents

The dime = 10 cents

The 4 nickels =  5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 20

1 quarter, 1 dime, and 4 nickels add up to the necessary total of 6 coins and when you add up the total cents of the quarter, dime, and nickels, 25 + 10 + 20 it comes to the sum of 55, which is how much the 6 coins are worth in total.

So therefore, the answer is 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 4 nickels.

it rained nine days in the month of april .based on this ,what is the probaility that is does not rain on the first day of may?
attashe74 [19]
<h3>Answer:     7/10</h3>

==========================================================

Explanation:

There are 30 days in April. Since it rained 9 of those days, the empirical probability of it raining in April is 9/30 = (3*3)/(3*10) = 3/10.

If we assume that the same conditions (ie weather patterns) hold for May, then the empirical probability of it raining in May is also 3/10. By "raining in May", I mean specifically raining on a certain day of that month.

The empirical probability of it not raining on the first of May is therefore...

1 - (probability it rains)

1 - (3/10)

(10/10) - (3/10)

(10-3)/10

7/10

We can think of it like if we had a 10 day period, and 3 of those days it rains while the remaining 7 it does not rain.

Find the length of the other two side of the isosceles right triangle
Valentin [98]

Answer:

The other two sides are 7 units each.

Step-by-step explanation:

The triangle is isosceles.

The sides are in the ratio of

x : x : x \sqrt{2}

The hypotenuse is

7\sqrt{2}=x \sqrt{2}\\\\x = 7

So, the other two sides are 7 units each.
