This question is missing the excerpt and the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

Read the following story excerpt and answer the question that follows: "Come on James!" Nick called him from the street. "Let's get to the court. The guys are waiting." James looked down at his list of assignments on the computer. "Nick, I can't go today," he yelled regretfully out his window. "I am behind on my work. You are, too! You should come over and we can study together." No response from Nick. James sighed and opened his website. A short time later he heard a loud knock at the door. It was Nick. "You were right. Let's finish up and then go shoot hoops."

Which line of dialogue impacted Nick and changed direction of the story?

A. Nick called him from the street. "Let's get to the court."

B. "Nick, I can't go today," he yelled out his window.

C. "Come on James!" Nick called him from the street.

D. "You are, too! You should come over and we can study together."

Answer:

The line that impacted Nick and changed the direction of the story is:

D. "You are, too! You should come over and we can study together."

Explanation:

Notice that, at the beginning of the story, Nick is quite unconcerned about his assignments. It is only when James reminds him that he is also behind that Nick pauses. He then realizes James is right, and changes his mind about going to the court to meet the others. He chooses to study with James instead. The line James says that helps Nick change his mind and the direction of the story is: D. "You are, too! You should come over and we can study together."

Answer:

Dear sharmin,

How are you? I hope you are well. In your last letter you wanted to know about my visit to Z’s house. I am sorry for delay to write you.

You know that during last vacation I paid a visit to Z’s house. It was a great experience for me. Z’s house is about 20 kilometers from my house. I went there by bus and it took me about 1 hour to reach there. Z was waiting in the bus stand to receive me. Their house is beside the stand. We I reached there, his parents cordially received me. I stayed there for two days only. Z’s mother is a very affectionate lady. She made different types of Pithas and other foods for me. I enjoyed them very much. They have a big pond where we swam together. We together played and visited different places. Z has a younger sister who is very sweet. She behaved with me as her own brother. Z’s father bought me a nice dress. I can never forget the memory of this visit.

It’s all for today. Please pay a visit to our house whenever you get chance. Waiting for your reply.

Your loving friend

B. Doing research and organizing your ideas

Doing research and organizing your ideas are the two skills needed to be acquired to be able to transform a vague idea in one’s mind into a coherent piece of writing. These skills doesn’t only make one’s paper into a coherent but also a comprehensible and reader-friendly piece. These skills are vital in relaying information and doing especially writing that involves critical thinking and technical precision. For example writing a report paper, a letter, or a thesis.
