Read the excerpt from The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street. WOMAN ONE (a little reluctantly) Well . . . sometimes I go to bed la

te at night. A couple of times . . . a couple of times I'd come out on the porch and I'd see Mr. Goodman here in the wee hours of the morning standing out in front of his house . . . looking up at the sky. (she looks around the circle of faces.) That's right looking up at the sky as if . . . as if he were waiting for something. (a pause) As if he were looking for something. There's a murmur of reaction from the crowd again. How does Woman One’s claim about Les Goodman affect other elements in the story? The neighbors become more sympathetic toward Les Goodman. The neighbors become even more suspicious of Les Goodman. The neighbors become less frightened of Les Goodman. The neighbors become more protective of Les Goodman.

Answer:

The neighbors become even more suspicious of Les Goodman.

Explanation:

According to the excerpt from The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, Woman One claims that she sees Mr. Goodman outside Kate at night, looking up to the sky as if he was expecting something and from her narration, it is described that the crowd had a murmured reaction AGAIN.

This means that Woman One’s claim about Les Goodman affect other elements in the story by making the neighbors even more suspicious of Mr. Goodman.

Examine in the picture of George Floyd being arrested. Let your voice be heard by giving sound judgmenton the material presented
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

(I used a picture off the internet)

Explanation:

George Floyd had pain inflicted on him because of the colour of his skin. He suffered at the hands of the authorities, meant to protect all people, eventually leading to his passing. You can visibly see his face writhe in agony and fear. How do we still live in a society where this behavior is still at large? It’s disgusting. People should not ever have to suffer because they are a different skin colour. Children should not have to grow up, in fear that they or someone they love are at risk because they are ‘different’.
