What is the value of z?
babymother [125]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Item 1:</u>

Discount = Original price - discount price

             = 22.50 - 13.50

             = $ 9

Discount percentage = \frac{9}{22.50}*100\\\\

                                   = 40%

Discount percentage = 40%

Tax = 14.31 - 13.50 = $0.81

Tax% = \frac{0.81}{13.50}*100\\\\  = 6%

Tax percentage = 6%

<u>Item 2:</u>

Tax = 6% of 16.20

      = 0.06 * 16.20

      = 0.972

Tax = $ 0.97

Total price (including tax )= 16.20 + 0.97 = $ 17.17

         x = $ 17.17

<u>Item 3:</u>

Discount  = 40% of 32.50

                        = 0.4 * 32.50

                        = $ 13

y =  32.50 -13

y = $ 19. 50

Tax = 6% of 19.50

       = 0.06 * 19.50

       = 1.17

z = 1.17 + 19.50

Z  =$ 20.67

The number of boys varies directly as the number of girls and inversely as the number of teachers. When there are 24 boys and 16
lidiya [134]
SO from what I did was...

Since 24 x 3 = 72 , I did the same to 16.

16 x 3 = 48

But because instead of their being 3 teachers there is 1... What I did is just was to divide 48 / 2 which gave me the answer of 24...

So what I think the answer is...

There are 72 boys, 24 girls, and 1 teacher...

Unless I am just dumb and it would be 48 girls, but I think I did it right.

I hope I was able to help out.

How many boys are there in a group of 27 students if there are four-fifths as many girls as there are boys?
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

15 boys

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 27 students. The number of girls is only 4/5 of the number of boys. I started by splitting the class. 14 boys and 13 girls doesn't work, so I changed it to 12 and 15. If it was 12 girls and 15 boys, the girls would have 4/5 of the boys, so it must be 12 girls and 15 boys.
