Is "writing" a gerund?

English
1 answer:

Hello!

I believe a gerund is a "ing" word taking place as a noun. We can't be 100% sure, because it is not used in a sentence, it depends on how you use it in the sentence if it is a gerund or not. Overall, the word "writing" is not a gerund.

Hope this helps! ☺♥

The school’s new basketball coach encouraged _________ students to try out for the team, whatever their level of skill may be.
antoniya [11.8K]

The school’s new basketball coach encouraged all students to try out for the team, whatever their level of skill may be.

The option to be used should correspond to the noun - students- in the question. 'Students' in plural form, so the correct option should also be in plural form.

'Each' and 'every' are singular form so they cannot be used in the sentence.

'Almost' and 'all' are in the plural form so they can be used in the sentence.

'Almost' is disqualified because the correct form should be 'almost all'

The statement that best describes how Kerouac's use of diction and syntax define his writing style is:

IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

i would pick sports or a baseball

Explanation:

The need for sports is very important for mental and emotional development. If children grow up in a playful and cheerful environment from an early age, their minds will be high. To enhance the freshness and vitality of the mind sports play a vital role. Therefore, it is seen that children do not play puppets and keep on with the elderly, and do not develop emotional health. Rather, they become presumptuous, unstable, and tempered. So, there is no way to neglect the necessity of sports in healthy mental and emotional development. Sport is an eternal source of endless joy. It is through this joy that the mind and character of the human being arise. This character is the key to success in the struggle for future life. Training in sports is a balancing act for people. There is competition for success in the premises of life like our play, joy of victory and disappointment of defeat, and instantly the ability to accept it with a calm heart.
