Originally, it was a single long poem. It was only when it was translated to European languages that it received this division.
The books talk about heroes, gods and the creation of life.
The first book describes, among other things, how the gods created life out of the silent nothingness.
The second book two boys plotting the destruction of the 7 Macaws. it seems that without humans to give them purpose, the gods can claim any value.
The third book is about the first attempt to create humans by Hun Hunahpu and Vucub Hunahpu. It also describes the creation of the Sun and the Moon.
During the fourth book, men are finally created.
<span>While there are indeed a plethora of reasons that led to it, the Revolutionary War and the resulting aftermath -- the United States winning and gaining independence -- led to the creation of the early republic which started with the Constitutional Convention of 1787, where America had to tackle constructing a governmental system that wasn't centralized in one branch, but instead allowed for multiple branches with elected representatives who could check the powers of the other branches and elected officials.</span>
The problem with the Great Depression of 1929 and the subsequent years
was that actually government did nothing to intervene. President Herbert
Hoover believed that government should interfere and that the market
will balance itself out. That is one of the reasons that President
Roosevelt won with a landslide with his promise of the New Deal.
In
2008 the government took a much active role in combating the Great
Recession. For example, the government even bailed out some banks that
were in trouble as well as provided emergency help. They also proposed
and passed many laws that would help prevent this kind of situation in
the future.
