What is the relationship between force, mass, and motion?

Biology

Answer: If an object is accelerating, then Force = Mass x Acceleration. If it is moving at a constant speed, then Kinetic Energy = 1/2 mass x velocity squared but in this case, there is no force acting on the object. Perhaps this will help understand the relationship between force and mass. Force is anything that acts on an object, from a person pushing on something to gravity holding the Earth in orbit around the Sun, to cause it to change speed or direction. If there is no change in speed or direction, then no force is acting on it. This relates to mass in the following way. THE GREATER THE MASS, THE GREATER THE FORCE NEEDED TO MAKE THAT MASS CHANGE SPEED OR DIRECTION. Think of it like this; what takes more force to push up a hill, a car, or a bicycle. The bicycle has less mass and therefore requires less force to push it.

Describe what will happen to the wave as it goes through the hole. what do we call this?
kari74 [83]

Diffraction occurs when a wave moves through an opening in a barrier. This causes the wave to change direction and spread out.

Waves can behave in three different ways depending on the obstacles they encounter. They can reflect, refract or diffract. In diffraction, waves such as sound, light or water either bend around small objects that obstruct their passage or spread out as they travel through a gap in the barrier.

The degree of diffraction forms a direct relationship with wavelength. It generally increases as wavelength increases. Conversely, the amount of bending lessens as wavelength decreases. However, if the opening of the barrier is smaller than the wavelength, the effect of diffraction is not easily observed. Hope this helps.

Explain the phases of the moon. what are the periods of rotation and revolution?
cluponka [151]

The Moon is the natural satellite of Earth. Its revolution lasts 27.322 days, while its rotation around its axis lasts 27 days. From the Earth's perspective, the Moon seems to have different phases, where it appears as fully lighted, partially lighted, or totally dark. What the Moon appears to be from the Earth depends on how the Earth, Moon, and Sun are aligned in relation to each other. If the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon, the Moon is full, with the reason being that the Sun is lighting up the side that is facing the Earth. If the Moon is between the Earth and Sun, then the Moon can not be seen, it is totally dark, and that is because the side that is facing the Earth is not lighted by the Sun at all. If the Moon is positioned sideways, not being in a straight line with the Earth and Sun, then it appears to be partially lighted, and that is the side that can be seen from Earth that is lighted by the Sun.
