Explanation:

After World War II, many colonies were granted independence because of economic instability in Europe. Colonies were the provider of resources during the period of war. After the war, colonies exhausted as well as in ruins and needed funds to rebuild themselves. European powers gave independence to many of their colonies because they were out of control as people coming with ideas of nationalism. It became even expensive to operate colonies with financially or military.
