Write an argumentative essay in which you state and defend a claim about whether Dr. Jekyll is responsible for the crimes commit
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

In the final chapter, Jekyll's letter highlights one of the main themes of the novel, the dual nature of man. It is this concept that caused him to pursue his disastrous experiments that led to his downfall. Hyde, the personification of Jekyll's purely evil characteristics, revels in the freedom of an anonymous existence. Although he successfully distills his evil side, Jekyll still remains a combination of good and evil. Thus, when transforming back and forth, his evil side grows stronger and more powerful after years of repression, and is able to take over completely. In this way, Jekyll's experiments are the opposite of what he hoped. Interestingly, as is repeatedly mentioned throughout the novel, Hyde is a small man often called dwarfish, while Jekyll is a man of large stature. Thus, the reader is left to assume that Jekyll's evil side is much weaker and less developed than his good side. However, appearances can be deceiving. In fact, Hyde's strength far out powers Jekyll's.

In his letter, Jekyll clearly states that he felt no guilt about Hyde's actions, as "Henry Jekyll stood at times aghast before the acts of Edward Hyde, but the situation was apart from ordinary laws, and insidiously relaxed the grasp of conscience. It was Hyde, after all, and Hyde alone, that was guilty." To the reader, this explanation seems ridiculous, because Hyde is in fact part of Jekyll, and a being that Jekyll created. Therefore, clearly Jekyll is responsible for the man's actions.

Chau wants to teach her audience about the features of green, black and white tea. She will most likely be using comparative organizational pattern.

There are types of organizational patterns available to use-

 • Chronological- It is in which the main points are conveyed based upon the time they occurred.

 • Topical- It is created around the main points and sub-points.

 • Comparative- It deliberates the similarities and differences between two or more things.

 • Spatial- It is the right way to convey key ideas.

 • Problem-Solution- It is used when the speaker wants to persuade the audience as they have to take part in solving several problems.

 • Causal- It informs the audience about the causes and effects that have occurred.

It is so because to examine the alikeness or differences between any two things, a comparative organizational pattern has to be utilize. As in comparative speeches, speakers may look at things in a diverse/different way.

Therefore, a comparative speech outlines the eastern and the western societies which could resemble this.

. If you saw a boat on the horizon, would you be able to read the name of the boat? Explain.
tigry1 [53]

For an observer standing on the ground with h = 2 meters (6 ft 7 in), the horizon is at a distance of 5 kilometers (3.1 mi).

The Earth curves about 8 inches per mile. As a result, on a flat surface with your eyes 5 feet or so off the ground, the farthest edge that you can see is about 3 miles away

Humans can see from 380–740 nanometers (nm)

So, the answer is no, if you can only barely see 3 miles away, then you wouldn't be able to read the name of a boat 3.1 miles away.
