5. Immortality is present

Example: Amoeba reproduces by binary fission

Multiple fission

1. Forms many daughter individuals

2. Divides repeatedly

3. Residue is left

4. Takes place in favourable as well as unfavourable conditions

5. Immortality is absent

Binary fission happen in favorable condtion where nucleus of (ex : amoeba) divides by mitosis giving two daughter cells and the mother cell disappears while multiple fission can happen in both favorable and unfavorable the nucleus undergoes repeated division to produce a large number of nuclei Each nucleus along with little bit of cytoplasm forms a membrane around it

Describe the different examples of active and passive transport
andrew11 [14]
Hi there!

Active Transport - Through the use of ATP, active transport pumps molecules against a particular concentration gradient. Active transport occurs from a low concentration solute and moves to a high concentration of solute. Two examples of active transport would be endocytosis and exocytosis.

Passive Transport - Active transport is the movement of molecules down a gradient. Unlike passive transport, it goes from high to low concentration and does not require energy (such as cellular energy). Some examples would be osmosis and diffusion.
