Answer:

The common good, as its name indicates, is the set of situations or events that produce a global benefit for all or most of the citizens of a given nation, state or city. Thus, for example, improvements in public infrastructure, in the minimum wage, etc., are issues that benefit the majority of the population, so they can be considered part of the common good.

Therefore, in constitutional democracies, citizens are guaranteed their participation in electoral processes, where each individual expresses their interests and convictions in their vote. Therefore, this is where the common good is related to democracy, as all citizens cast their vote with the conviction of achieving said common good for themselves as individuals and for society in general.

lilavasa [31]

To the astonishment of many, including many in his own party, on July 26, 1948 Harry Truman made one of the biggest contributions to date for racial integration and equality. In issuing Executive Order 9981 Truman ordered the desegregation of the armed forces.

What was Truman's desegregation of the military?

On July 26, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed this executive order banning segregation in the Armed Forces. In 1940, African-Americans made up almost 10 percent of the total U.S. population (12.6 million people out of a total population of 131 million).

What did Truman achieve for civil rights?

On July 26, 1948, President Truman issued Executive Order 9981, ending segregation in the military and establishing equality of treatment and opportunity in the Armed Services.

Where did the desegregation of the military take place?

It became a satellite facility of Camp Lejeune. Most of the actual enforcement of the order was accomplished by President Dwight D. Eisenhower's administration (1953–1961), including the desegregation of military schools, hospitals, and bases.
